a little bit about me
Oh Hi!, Thanks for stopping by…
Sometimes I’m asked the question ” What do you do?” – when I was younger the answer was much easier.
Today I do lots of things.
I graduated from the University of Miami’s BFA Theater Program in the mid 90’s and began my career as a sound engineer/designer for acts including Jimmy Buffet and John Leguizamo. I built sound systems for the Broadway musical “Side Show” and the national tour of “Rent”. Never being able to shake the theatre bug, I still help produce theatre for my writer/director friends Alex Lyras/Robert McCaskill and Steve Garvey/Jay Stern.
Professionally, I specialize user interface design and front-end development and have been doing it for over 15 years. I started out as a Flash Developer and am now a highly attuned UX/UI/IA/Web Stack Pro. Throw a front end interface challenge at me and I’ll toss back a fully executed application that your clients will love. I operate my consulting business Darrow Digital Media, Inc. out of the Brooklyn Creative League shared office space in Gowanus, Brooklyn and label myself a Creative Technical Generalist.
In April of 2012 I started exploring physical computing. Since then I have built 3 toy robots – Flippy, Dookie and Number 2. I’ve presented my creations at National Robotics Week NYC 2013 and at South by Southwest 2014.
Yes today I do lots of things.
